What you bring to SBHG (qualifications):
- Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or psychiatric technology required. Associates degree, preferred.
- One (1) year service experience working as a LVN or LPT in a behavioral health field
- One (1) year medication administration experience required.
- Valid California LVN or LPT license.
- Current CPR certification.
How you will make a difference (job overview):
The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician (Nurse) assists with medication support services provided by the psychiatrist, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant. Medication support services may include, but are not limited to; med support appointments, taking vitals, medication education, medication management support and/or administration, including injections. Follow up communication, tracking and documentation for labs, prescriptions and appointments. provides direct client care including medications and basic medical intervention and education, following standard nursing practices.
Division/Program Overview:
- The program sees adults (18+) and older adults.
- It is a FULLY community-based program - all services happen at a person's home or community.
- The clients have complex needs - medication, housing, vocational, independent living and mental health.
- The intensity for services for each client is about 10 hours per month and once we are fully up and running, we'll have a census of about 50 adults.
- We are preparing to also start an Adult Outpatient Program which this position would oversee as well. Eventually, this position will have all our Adult programs, including IHOT.
