ResponsibilitiesIn the area of oncology specialty, the Nurse Clinician - Oncology acts as a clinician, educator, consultant, researcher, and leader relevant to the needs of oncology patients and family members, nursing personnel, and the healthcare system. The Nurse Clinician - Oncology serves as a clinical resource and expert in the area of oncology specialty and communicates needs and coordinates services among other members of the healthcare team in order to ensure total quality oncology patient care and improved patient outcomes. The Nurse Clinician demonstrates knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice, clinical competency, and professional development and utilizes the Swanson Theory of Caring and patient/family-centered care as the foundation for his/her nursing practice.
QualificationsRequired:
- 1 year in oncology, palliative, head and neck experience, or 3 years general nursing experience
- Associate Degree
- Registered Nurse
Desired:
- Bachelor Degree
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or certification relevant to oncology specialty
