Job Description:
Parsons is looking for a talented Certified Industrial Hygienist to join our Environmental team! In this role you will get to work on high profile environmental remediation projects throughout Southern California. Primary work location would be the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Responsible for evaluating, documenting and controlling workplace hazards to protect the health and safety of employees.
- This includes conducting assessments, implementing control measures, and providing recommendations to minimize exposure to occupational hazards.
- Conduct workplace assessments to identify potential health hazards, including exposure to hazardous substances, noise, particulates, and physical hazards.
- Collect and analyze data related to workplace hazards, including air quality, to assess the level of exposure and associated risks and prepare reports presenting the results and recommendations.
- Provide recommendations for control measures to minimize or eliminate exposure to hazards. This may include elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment.
- Prepare documents including but not limited to health and safety plans, air monitoring plans, and noise monitoring/mitigation plans.
- Stay up to date on, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding workplace safety and health standards.
- Develop, record and deliver training programs to educate employees on occupational hazards, hazard recognition, and control measures.
- Implement and manage monitoring programs to track exposure levels and assess the effectiveness of control measures over time.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of workplace assessments, exposure monitoring results, and control measures implemented.
- Collaborate with other occupational safety professionals, engineers, and management to address safety concerns and integrate safety measures into work processes.
- Communicate with the project team, client, and project stakeholders (email, phone, video calls, and in person) and actively participate in virtual and in-person meetings.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- CIH with California Department of Public Health (CDPH) lead assessor/inspector certification.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and recent 8-hour OSHA HAZWOPER refresher.
- 4-year degree in biology, chemistry, engineering, industrial hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health or related field.
- 5+ years of related work experience in the field of industrial hygiene or a related field.
- Knowledge of Cal/OSHA, CDPH, local, and federal safety and health regulations.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Experience with industrial hygiene monitoring equipment, tools, and evaluating action levels for PPE requirements.

Salary Range: $83,300.00 - $145,800.00
