Job Summary
In accordance with CPTE's mission, vision and values, the Clinic Director (CD) leads the day-to-day operations and overall profitability and growth of their assigned clinic(s). The Clinic Director oversees and mentors a high performing and engaged team of front office and clinical staff that consistently delivers best-in-class care, and exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes. The Clinic Director is also responsible for their own patient caseload and delivers direct patient care. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) or other management as directed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The below statements are intended to describe the general nature of work assigned. This is not an exhaustive list and may be subject to change.
Staff Management:
- Manages and supervises staff (physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, techs/aids, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, and front desk) on a day-to-day basis.
- Participates in hiring, training, and onboarding of clinical team.
- Creates and leads annual staff performance reviews; continually provides feedback and mentors staff to ensure high performance.
- Serves as a mentor and/or clinical instructor in coordination with CPTE's New Grad Mentorship and Student Affiliation Programs.
- Prepares and leads clinic staff meetings.
- Addresses all staff issues and maintains an open door policy for staff to express concerns and ideas for improvement.
Patient Care:
- Develops Individualized plans of care and treats patients through all phases of physical therapy with an emphasis towards compassionate, comprehensive and evidence-based approaches, restoring patients to optimal function.
- Completes daily patient care, progress and discharge notes.
- Provides continuous communication with referring physicians and other referral sources.
Clinic Operations and Management:
- Ensures their clinic maintains a warm, friendly and welcoming relationship with all patients, staff, all medical and non-medical professionals, vendors and visitors.
- Manages clinic schedules in partnership with QA Director to ensure patient scheduling convenience and appropriate frequency to achieve therapy goals.
- Meets or exceeds clinic goals related to defined key performance metrics (KPIs); Prepares and submits weekly report of KPIs that include visits per week, units per visit, arrival/cancellation rates, among others.
- Ensures clinic equipment is in good, working condition; Monitors and assists in the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility.
- Maintains clinical logs and checklists necessary for clinic compliance.
Administrative:
- Assures that all patient care and documentation is compliant and in accordance with CPTE Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Participates in quarterly chart review and quality assurance.
- Recommends and provides support for long term staffing and schedule changes.
- Handles patients that have concerns, complaints, or are in need of assistance; communicates with internal leadership and staff as needed to resolve the situation.
- Reviews and follows up with any incident involving patient, visitor, or staff member.
- Follows State and Federal regulations regarding the practice of physical therapy and Medicare.
- Develops ideas with staff for new program development and assists in the creation and implementation of new programs.
- Participates in Marketing and Sales meetings and events.
Education and Experience
- Graduate of a CAPTE accredited school of physical therapy.
- Active or pending state license to practice physical therapy.
- Previous clinic director or leadership experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask while providing exceptional patient experience.
- Passion for physical therapy and patient outcomes.
- Natural born leader with the ability to drive performance and motivate employees.
- Proficient in Google Docs, Sheets and/or Microsoft Word, Excel.
- Knowledge of clinic KPIs, reporting, and analysis.
- Proficient in EMR Systems; Experience in Clinicient is a plus.
