Pre/Post Area Responsibilities:
- Assesses/reassesses young adult, adult, and elderly patients and applies the nursing process.
- Demonstrates basic competency in specialized procedures/equipment, i.e.:
- Cardiac Monitoring
- Care of and/or recovery of patient pre/post interventional cardiac procedures
- Care of patients with vascular closure devices: application, maintenance, and removal
- Maintain/Pull Arterial and/or Venous Sheaths
- ACT machine
- Angioseal/Vasoseal
- Minimal Sedation
- Use of moderate sedation with safety and prevention guidelines
- Assist with transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE)
- Perform “Bubble” method as required when assisting with TEE
- Pain management and follow-up pain reassessment
- Blood draws and use of appropriate “order-of-the-draw” for labs
- IV therapy
- IV ADD
- Infusion of blood and blood products
- Information management
- Synchronized Cardioversion
- ICDs Pacemakers (Temporary and Permanent) Pre/Post Care and Recovery
Procedural Area Responsibilities:
- Assesses/reassesses young adult, adult, and elderly patients and applies the nursing process.
- Demonstrates basic competency in specialized procedures/equipment, i.e.:
- Care of and/or recovery of patient pre/post interventional cardiac procedures
- Care of and/or recovery of patient pre/post electrophysiology procedures
- Care of and/or recovery of patient pre/post interventional radiology procedures
- Care of patients with vascular closure devices: application, maintenance, removal and post care.
- Assist with Vascular Procedures, including IVC Filters, Run-Offs, Acute and Chronic Occlusions
- Maintain/Pull Arterial and/or Venous Sheaths
- ACT Machine
- Assist with Peripheral Balloons and Stents
- Assist with Thermodilution and Invasive Monitoring
- Assist with IVUS procedures
- Assist with Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures
- Assist with FFR (Fraction Flow Reserve) Procedures
- Assist with Electrophysiology “EP” Procedures
- Assist with RF Ablations
- Assist with Cryoablations
- Assist with insertion of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Assist with Loop Recorder Insertion
- Assist with ICDs, Pacemakers (Temporary and Permanent)
- Assist with Spectranetics Laser
- Synchronized Cardioversion/Defibrillation
- Pain management and follow-up pain reassessment
- Anaphylactic Reactions: Monitor for, manage, and use of anaphylactic kit
- MAC Lab System Monitoring
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:
Associate’s degree in nursing required. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. RN license required. CPR required BLS, ACLS, NIHSS EKG required. 2 years experience required, 5 years preferred.
Travel Experience Required.
