Radiological Technologist, Surgical Services Department
Bluegrass Specialty Surgery Center is hiring a Radiological Technologist for our Surgical Services Department in Lexington, KY.
The Radiological Technologist will operate X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images during surgery. As a Radiological Technologist, you will be responsible for following established radiological requirements and regulations to ensure the safety of our patients and team members.
This Radiological Technologist opportunity is a full-time position located on-site at our surgery center in Lexington, KY. The Radiological Technologist reports to the OR Manager.
Radiological Technologist Assistant Roles and Responsibilities:
- Operates radiologic equipment to produce images for diagnostic purposes.
- Positions radiologic equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination.
- Takes x-rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
- Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure patient care and safety.
- Ensures radiologic equipment remains in working order, and reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
- Properly cleans and maintains x-ray equipment & maintains sterile field.
- Serves as back-up for team members as needed by controlling patient flow, performing EKG tests, obtaining blood pressure measurements, documenting vital signs in the EMR, and administering injectables.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Associate of Applied Science Degree for Radiological Technology.
- Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARTT) Certification.
- State of Kentucky Radiation License.
- Positive attitude, desire to efficiently support the care of patients, work in a team relationship with other health care workers to produce positive outcomes.
- Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, insurance companies, and the public.
- Knowledge of radiologic standards, requirements, and regulations.
- Knowledge of radiologic safety, cleanliness, and infection control policies.
- Knowledge of radiologic equipment uses and maintenance.
