This is a combined posting for an Associate Medical Assistant, Medical Assistant, and Senior Medical Assistant. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. The Medical Assistant (MA) I works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met though both administrative and clinical duties. An MA I is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
The Medical Assistant (MA) II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
The Medical Assistant (MA) III works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA III is capable of performing all aspects of the MA I and MA II roles. Additionally, the MA III proactively takes initiative and serves as an informal leader with additional responsibilities related to clinic/location. MA III serves as an ambassador, change agent, quality champion, and mentor/resource to Medical Assistants by providing support, guidance, and training as needed.
Associate Medical Assistant:
Required Qualifications:
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months).
Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework/Training: Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants or an equivalent combination of coursework, experience/training to qualify to sit for the CA State or National Certification exam.
6 months' Prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment.
6 months' Previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health record (EHR).
Associate Medical Assistant, Salary Range:
Southern, CA (Mission Hills) - Min: $23, Max: $30.54
Medical Assistant:
Required Qualifications:
Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program with an externship (Applied learning) or has completed medical training in the United States Armed Forces or
Has worked as a Medical Assistant in a clinic environment for at least six months or
Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification
Medical Assistant, Salary Range:
Southern, CA (Mission Hills, Burbank, Canyon Country, Porter Ranch, Santa Clarita, and Valencia) - Min: $23, Max: $33.07
Senior Medical Assistant:
Required Qualifications:
Coursework/Training: Graduate of accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants, or an equivalent combination of coursework, experience and hands on training in a clinical setting.
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
2 years' Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting
2 years' Experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion.
6 months' Working experience in a PSJH clinic within the last 3 years.
Preferred Qualification:
- National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire
Senior Medical Assistant, Salary Range:
Southern, CA (Canyon Country) - Min: $23, Max: $35.41
