This is an OPS (Other Personal Services) position and as such no paid time off is offered. Health benefits will be offered for full-time employment. OPS employees are eligible to participate in a deferred compensation plan.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This OPS position is for a Drug Product and Paraphernalia Testing Coordinator (Part B Coordinator), working on the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Overdose Data to Action Local (OD2A-L): Limiting Overdose through Collaborative Actions in Localities OD2A-L Grant at the Florida Department of Health in Broward County. The Part B Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities and analyzing data related to drug products and paraphernalia collected through community partners. This role involves conducting in-depth analysis of substances, understanding trends in drug usage, identifying emerging threats, and providing actionable insights to public health officials, law enforcement, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze laboratory data from drug products and paraphernalia samples collected in the community.
- Monitor and analyze trends in drug usage, distribution, and overdose patterns.
- Track and report on new and emerging drug threats in the community.
- Provide real-time data and insights to support rapid public health and safety responses.
- Prepare detailed reports, visualizations, and presentations summarizing findings and trends.
- Collaborate with public health departments and community organizations to share data and inform intervention strategies.
- Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to reduce overdose risks and enhance prevention efforts.
- Work closely with epidemiologists, toxicologists, and other public health professionals to integrate overdose data into broader public health initiatives.
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies on drug surveillance and overdose prevention programs.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams and task forces focused on addressing the overdose crisis.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and integrity of data analysis processes and outputs.
- Maintain compliance with relevant data privacy, security, and reporting regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Willing to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours, or days in the event of an emergency.
- Valid driver’s license free of major infractions and access to an automobile to be utilized for work purposes and receive reimbursement for mileage.
- Experience in coordinating community outreach or public health initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in physical science, biology, toxicology, or forensic science or another related field.
- Two (2) or more years of data analysis experience.
- Experience in presenting data and insights to diverse audiences, including public health officials and community organizations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two (2) or more years of public speaking experience.
- Two (2) or more years of experience writing data reports.
- Two (2) or more years of experience working as a project coordinator with external partners.
- One (1) or more years of experience with harm reduction strategies and best practices in substance use prevention.
