Salary:
Starting at $15.00 an hour (Non-exempt)
About the Position:
Provide services that help families comply with court-ordered program participation and work through difficult situations and assist parents or other caregivers to maintain or reunify their family unit.
A Typical Day as a Family Visitation Specialist:
- Provides safe transportation for children and adolescents to and from sibling and/or parenting visits, medical visits, appointments, etc. as needed.
- Supervise parent/child visitation.
- Complete appropriate documentation regarding activities performed.
- Work in conjunction with the DCFS caseworker to provide coordinated case treatment.
- Conduct assessments and report to professional team members any progress, changes in the situations of persons served.
Work Hours:
Schedule is flexible and non-traditional; based on the availability of youth and families served.
Does the Following Apply to You?
- High School Diploma or GED
- Child Welfare Experience (preferred)
Additional Qualifications:
- Completion of DCFS criminal background check and fingerprinting
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Obtain an insured vehicle
- At least three years of driving experience with a valid driver's license
