Dialysis Nurse Manager
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The Nurse Manager coordinates all activities in the Center to provide quality patient care. Must be a Registered Nurse that can demonstrate ability to problem solve, communicate effectively, and work in a group setting.
Summary of Duties:
- Develops and maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance/performance improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Selects, Trains/Orients nursing and technical staff. Evaluates performances, and initiate or make recommendations for personnel action.
- Provide clinical supervision for nursing and technical staff.
- Coordinates schedule for staff and shift times for patients.
- Assists in patient and staff education in the care and treatment of dialysis patients and helps physicians evaluate the effectiveness of the dialysis regimen.
- Provides dialysis treatment in conformance with nursing standards to include initiation, monitoring, and termination of treatment.
- Observe and report symptoms and conditions of the dialysis patient to the physician.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in education programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
- Maintains a safe environment. Maintains CPS certification, and attends meetings as required. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases. Exposed to hazardous anesthetic agents, body fluids, and wastes. Handles emergency or crisis situations. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours. Able to relate well to patients, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications:
- Registered professional nurse with NYS RN License, 3 years of experience working in Renal Care setting.

Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services.
- Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
- Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen.
- Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
- Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as - $125,000 - $130,000 based on relevant experience.
