Townsen Memorial is hiring for a PRN Certified Surgical Tech to join our hospital in Humble, TX. The Surgical Technologist will be responsible for preparing the OR suite for each case, instrument management, and room turnover.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates competency in assisting with all surgeries and accepts surgeon feedback as constructive learning opportunities.
- Demonstrates knowledge of all surgical instruments and anticipates the next instrument needed.
- Demonstrates competency in all positioning techniques for the surgeries they are participating in.
- Demonstrates safe stabilized placement on the appropriate bed/table, with the appropriate operation, set up, safety measures, and utilization of all necessary equipment, stabilizers, padding, wrapping and/or attachments.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 years of experience as CST.
- Formal education in surgical technology and assisting.
- Orthopedic and Spine Procedures experience.
- Knowledge of sterile processing best practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Diploma from an approved Surgical Technologist Program and/or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Current Surgical Technologist Certification from an accredited program or completed an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the army, navy, air force, marine corps, or coast guard of the United States or in the United States Public Health Service.
- Current BLS.
WORK WEEK SCHEDULE:
- Monday through Friday PRN.
- 8-hour dayshift.
