SPARC practitioners are keeping families together and reuniting disrupted families through intensive home-based family therapy called Family Centered Treatment (FCT). With FCT and Family Centered Treatment Recovery which addresses parental substance misuse, we not only have the opportunity to directly improve the outcomes for current families, but also for generations to come as children see a positive shift in their family system and carry that into their future families.
Family Centered Treatment supports families experiencing difficulties associated with child abuse, neglect, juvenile delinquency, child or parental developmental disabilities or mental health problems. A certified SPARC practitioner provides in-home, intensive services to children and parents addressing family functioning and individual and generational traumas that have previously gone unaddressed.
Family Centered Treatment Recovery (FCTR) layers the evidence based, in-home treatment model of Family Centered Treatment with sobriety support and interventions when there is substance misuse by a parent. SPARC Foundation’s Executive Director, Jackie Latek explains, “Failure to address the underlying, progressive disease of addiction in families has contributed to generational cycles of dysfunction, trauma and displacement for children. Our mission at SPARC is to keep people out of institutional care. We not only believe a home-based model for recovery and healing is possible, we now have years of data informing our work and commitment to families.”
The SPARC Foundation has a team of licensed clinicians, peer support specialists and addiction specialists leading our FCT and FCTR programs; now serving families in Buncombe, Transylvania and Henderson Counties. Contact SPARC’s FCT/FCTR Team for more information or to make a referral.
