Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Scientist to lead a team of data scientists, data engineers, and software engineers in developing advanced analytics solutions. This role involves overseeing the entire analytics project lifecycle, from ideation and data exploration to model development and deployment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for using data to solve complex problems.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data scientists and analysts, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and success.
- Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data science projects, including planning, execution, and delivery of analytics solutions.
- Model Development: Develop, implement, and optimize advanced statistical and machine learning models to solve complex business problems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment on analytics goals and objectives.
- Data Strategy: Define and implement data strategies that drive the use of data and analytics across the organization.
- Data Exploration: Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
- Reporting and Visualization: Create and present data-driven insights and visualizations to stakeholders, ensuring the results are actionable and impactful.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data science and analytics, continuously seeking ways to improve processes and tools.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in data science or analytics, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Education: Master's or PhD degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Skills:
- Strong expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
- Proficiency in data science tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
