Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Patient Access Manager and following established policies and procedures, gathers and records all appropriate information. Depending on area assigned, responsible for interviewing patients to obtain demographic and confidential clinical/financial information necessary to appropriately schedule, register, obtain treatment authorizations, and verify insurance eligibility and corresponding benefit levels. May work directly with medical staff, nursing, ancillary departments, insurance carriers and other external professionals to assist patients in obtaining health care and financial services. Interviews, hires, schedules, assigns work to and evaluates the work performance of employees supervised. Provides feedback to staff on internal and/or external customer services. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital. The Team Lead position will assist the manager of the TGH Outpatient Center Emergency Department team.
Qualifications
- Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of a GED or high school diploma.
- CPAT/CHAA preferred.
- 2+ years experience in Patient Access/Accounts setting.
