ResponsibilitiesTo serve as a liaison between the surgeon, patient, and staff to ensure the care delivery that will minimize complications and maximize patient and physician satisfaction. The Nurse Navigator will assist with tracking the progress of the program and identifying areas that require improvement. The Nurse Navigator will provide pre and post-op education. The nurse navigator works closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team, physicians, and the community to improve the care and services provided to oncology patients. The navigator promotes patient, family, and physician satisfaction and is accountable for patient care delivery through appropriate resource utilization, active communication/follow up with team members, and leading clinical quality initiatives. The individual in this role must be equipped with good critical thinking skills and the ability to carry out independent nursing judgment and decision making. The navigator provides services which encompass the spiritual, physiological, social, and psychological care aspects of patients, the prevention of disease, and the conservation of health. Demonstrate Service Excellence at all times and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications- RN required; BSN preferred
- Current Florida State RN Licensure
- BCLS, ACLS required
- The successful individual will possess the knowledge of how to plan and deliver care to a diverse population of patients and the ability to communicate and work with people from a variety of age groups, social strata and ethnic backgrounds
- Strong computer experience with Excel and PowerPoint is required
- At least 2 years experience in oncology nursing
- Oncology Certification or obtained within 1 year
- Must possess strong leadership, critical thinking and stress management skills. Time management, public relations promotion, conflict resolution, and the ability to be creative and innovative.
- Incumbents must understand the body of knowledge surrounding the oncology disease continuum (prevention, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and through end of life).
