Job Description:
Your duties include but are not limited to working collaboratively with a physician and under the clinical supervision of the Medical Directors. The Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) provides medical evaluations and ongoing medication treatment to Oncology patients being co-managed with Oncology specialist physicians. This patient population includes solid tumor, malignant hematology, bone marrow transplant, CAR-T therapy, and other clinical cancer research trial patients.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Participates in data collection related to the patients' status and needs.
- Performs initial hospital admissions and initiates care coordination for patients being admitted either for primary treatment of oncologic issues or medical-surgical issues.
- Collaborates with specialists and incorporates consultant recommendations into the treatment plan.
- Provides direct patient care to hospitalized Oncology patients within scope of practice to ensure implementation of the plan of care.
- Informs and instructs patients/significant others on patients' health/illness state and plan of care.
- Documents clearly all aspects of patient care in the electronic medical record.
- Administers medications and parenteral therapy in accordance with established policies.
Preferred candidates should have:
- At least 2 years of acute care hospital experience.
- Prior experience as a bedside nurse, preferably in oncology, ICU, or ER setting.
- Prior Oncology experience strongly preferred but not necessary.

Great organization skills, strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, flexibility in work roles, team player, ability to multitask, great attention to detail, excellent bedside manners, and the ability to communicate effectively in the English Language.
