Description
- Provide referral information to students, families, program and professionals regarding the needs of referred students.
- Obtain consent for psycho-educational evaluations.
- Utilize various assessment instruments and techniques as a part of multidisciplinary team to assist in identifying students eligible for Special Education Services and in determining appropriate intervention strategies and techniques.
- Organize assignments to meet due dates and mandated timelines.
- Write full and individual evaluation reports to address the needs of the student and guide instruction.
- Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee meetings and interpret evaluation results.
- Comply with all state and federal rules, laws, policies and guidelines related to special education of students with disabilities.
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree from an accredited university; professional certification as an Educational Diagnostician by the Texas Education Agency.
- Valid Texas teaching certification with a minimum of three years of successful teaching in a public or private school setting.
- Knowledge of the administration and interpretation of a wide variety of psychoeducational evaluation instruments.
- Proficient in district provided software and technology including the Special Education Data Management System.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats.
- Must be willing and able to travel throughout the district.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish and/or Sign Language is a plus.
