The Semi Volatiles Laboratory Technician will be responsible for supporting the semi volatiles laboratory by following methodologies, performing analysis, and interpreting data from samples.
What you will do:
- Analyzing samples for alkalinity, biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, total dissolved solids, total suspended solids, and other inorganic analyses.
- Follow the outlined methodologies and Standard Operating Procedures for the tests to which you have been assigned.
- Learn to operate and maintain scientific instruments such as flow injection analyzers, total organic carbon analyzers, and ion chromatography systems.
- Document activities and report results in a concise and accurate manner.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of laboratory equipment and areas.
- Assist group leaders and analysts in ordering and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation.
What you will bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
- 2 years of relevant work experience.
- 1-3 years of previous experience working in an environmental laboratory is preferred.
- Knowledge of analytical method, instruments, general lab practices, and lab safety.
