Compensation:
- Minimum Rate Per Hour: $32

Job Summary:
Join the ECMO ICU team as a Registered Nurse, where you will be part of an elite group delivering the highest quality care to patients requiring extracorporeal life support (ECLS). This role involves working with advanced mechanical circulatory devices, including ECMO, ventricular assist devices, and intra-aortic balloon pumps. As part of our ELSO Platinum Center of Excellence, you will be integral to providing world-class care to critically ill patients. ECMO ICU Unit Highlights:
- Patient Population: ECLS patients receiving VA, VV, VP, VA-V, RVAD, and ECPR therapies. This includes patients with conditions such as postcardiotomy syndrome, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, pre and post heart/lung transplant, ARDS, and post-cardiac arrest.
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 RN to ECMO patient
- Department Specifics: 10 dedicated ECMO beds within the Cardiothoracic and Transplant ICU (CTTICU), 24/7 coverage by dedicated ICU physicians and ACNPs, a 100% certification rate (CCRN, CSC), involvement in multiple research trials and publications, and one of the two North Texas ECMO programs with RN-led ECMO Specialist transport teams.
Essential Functions:
- Deliver expert nursing care to ECMO patients, utilizing advanced mechanical circulatory support devices.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to manage complex cases and ensure the highest standards of patient care.
- Maintain and enhance your skills through ongoing education and certification, including obtaining CCRN certification within 6 months of hire.
- Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to advance the field of ECMO and critical care nursing.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.:
- Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification through AACN required within 6 months of hire.
