THE SPECIALTY CARE SERVICES STAFF NURSE is a professional nurse who assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for Patients/families in his/her area.
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Associate degree or diploma at least one year of recent nursing experience required, preferably in pediatrics, preferably in outpatient setting.
OR
BSN or MSN a minimum of 6 months experience preferred, preferably in pediatrics, preferably in outpatient setting
Experience
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
Current RN License in the State of Alabama
Current BLS Certification

The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Children’s of Alabama provides comprehensive evaluation and diagnostic treatment of a broad range of pediatric endocrine and diabetes disorders. This is a high volume, fast-paced clinic that features 30 clinical exam rooms, 6 triage bays, 2 stimulation testing rooms, 1 procedure room, and 3 classrooms to be able to accommodate a large volume of patients. The Endocrine Clinic is supported by 12 Endocrinologists, 6 Fellows, and 10 Nurse Practitioners. The Endocrine Clinic also has multiple areas of support staff including Diabetes Educators, Insulin Pump Educators, Clinic Nurses, Endocrine Nurses, Clinic Aides, and Secretarial staff.
