The primary role of the Educators is to support the learning needs of staff and patients by providing opportunities for the acquisition of new knowledge, skills, and behaviors in view of advancing technologies, changing health care delivery systems, expanding staff roles, evidence-based practice, and research. These opportunities include but are not limited to orientation, continuing education, formal and informal inservices, coaching, and consulting. Furthermore, the education department believes that South Texas Health System employee’s continuing education is a major asset in employee recruitment and retention.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training, and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.
- Bachelor’s, Masters Preferred.
- Must have and maintain current BLS certification, Instructor Trainer Certification, according to unit specific needs. If does not have must maintain within one year of employment. Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider’s Program.
- ACLS preferred.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Experience at an Acute Care Hospital with experience in PICU and Pedi.
