Job DescriptionThis position recruits qualified physicians for a multi-specialty clinic group. The recruiter will advertise and market job opportunities, cold call, and network with physicians and agencies, successfully completing assigned physician searches. The recruiter will consult from the initial recruitment through final negotiations, prepare a comprehensive profile of open opportunities, and develop/implement targeted candidate strategies. The recruiter will serve as the primary contact for physician candidates throughout the recruitment process, including facilitation of the on-site interview and assistance with offer and contract negotiations as needed.
Essential FunctionsThe Physician Recruiter will tailor their involvement to Legacy needs through three different approaches:
- Full Search: Includes meeting with the Medical Director to determine specific physician needs. A recruitment/marketing strategy will be developed to identify candidates that meet the Medical Director’s requirements. The CVs of those candidates who express an interest will be forwarded to the Medical Director for review. Telephone interviews will be coordinated, as will subsequent site visits. This represents a complete cycle of recruitment service from candidate identification through final appointment.
- Targeted Search: In this process, the Medical Director has already identified key candidates they wish to bring to Legacy. Candidates will be contacted and apprised of the position as well as the advantages of affiliating with Legacy. Under the direction of the Medical Director, arrangements will be made for telephone interviews and subsequent site visits and coordination of interview itineraries as appropriate.
- Visit Coordination: In this minimal level of involvement, the Physician Recruiter will assist in the necessary arrangements for the coordination of a site visit as well as the interview itineraries.
Candidate Sourcing/Marketing- The Physician Recruiter will:
- Devise and implement an overall marketing strategy focused on a consistent and controlled cycle of recruitment for the recruitment of physicians specific to the Medical Director's needs.
- Assist in the creation and development of marketing and/or advertising material for print and placement in professional journals and/or Internet placement as well as posters for display at professional meetings.
- Source potential candidates utilizing multiple venues including internal databases, the Internet, residency programs, specialty-specific professional associations, and professional recruitment online databases.
Candidate Screening- The Physician Recruiter will:
- Conduct initial screening of potential candidates via telephone interviews pursuant to Legacy’s specific guidelines.
- Present an in-depth exchange of information about the available opportunity and expand on the advantages of associating with Legacy Community Health Services.
- Evaluate the candidate’s professional goals & interests to determine whether they are a match to specific Legacy opportunity and culture.
- Determine the candidate’s level of interest in the Legacy specific opportunity.
- Provide the candidate’s CV to the appropriate Medical Director for review.
Candidate Interview Process- The Physician Recruiter will:
- Arrange for a telephone interview between the appropriate Medical Director and the candidate. If there is interest in the candidate then…
- In concert with the Medical Director, ascertain possible dates that will work for both the candidate and the Medical Director for an onsite visit and interviews.
- Bring the candidate to Legacy for scheduled interviews with appropriate individuals.
- Work with the Medical Director to develop and coordinate an itinerary for interviews with physicians within Legacy as directed.
Candidate Pre-Site Visit- Prior to the initial visit, the Physician Recruiter will:
- Provide pre-site visit Legacy and Houston area (if needed) information packet.
- Generate a cost of living comparison analysis between Houston and current location and/or those other locations possibly being considered by the candidate.
- Conduct an in-depth interview of the candidate to ascertain possible geographic areas of interest as well as types of housing preferred.
- Ascertain the candidate’s family needs in terms of schooling and provide an analysis of available schools within or near the communities of interest to the candidate.
Subsequent Candidate Site Visit- The Physician Recruiter will provide a personalized orientation of the best that Northeast Ohio has to offer to include the following:
- Arrange for a personalized community tour to introduce the candidate and/or his/her family to the Houston area (if needed).
- Arrange for a personalized community tour specific to the needs and direction of the candidate, e.g., suburbs to provide an overview of schools, parks, and available shopping as well as availability of housing.
Site Visit Details- The Physician Recruiter will:
- Coordinate airline flights for the candidate and/or his family.
- Arrange for livery service to transport the candidate to and from the Houston airport to the hotel of choice.
- Make all necessary hotel reservations.
- Schedule and coordinate with pertinent physicians and Legacy leadership pursuant to the direction of the Medical Director.
Candidate Post Site Visit- The Physician Recruiter will:
- Follow up with the candidate to address questions and/or concerns developed during their site visit.
- Through discussions, evaluate the candidate’s continued level of interest in the Legacy opportunity.
Feedback to Medical Directors- The Physician Recruiter will:
- Prepare weekly Physician Recruitment Logs that reflect detailed status information on all candidates pertinent to the Medical Director /Section.
- Provide ongoing updates relative to specific candidates on a continuous basis.
- Share comments and insights gained through casual conversation with candidates during visits as well as from e-mail correspondence as they occur.
- Follow-up as required with Medical Director /Section Head to facilitate completion of necessary telephone interviews.
Performs other duties as assigned.Education & Training Requirements- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business/Administration/HR or related field.
- Previous experience in healthcare setting preferred.
Work Experience- Minimum of 3 years full-cycle physician recruiting.
