Cath Lab Technologist, Special Procedures Tech

Assists the physician with the performance of invasive and diagnostic/interventional cardiac, vascular, neuro and electrophysiology procedures, by monitoring, passing instruments and catheters, observing patient response to procedure, maintaining sterile field, and interpreting and evaluating diagnostic data to be utilized by the physician. Supports the education, training, and quality improvement processes in the department.
QualificationsEducation
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Completion of a certificate/training program or an Associates degree in health sciences is preferred (including but not limited to cardiovascular technology, respiratory therapy, nursing, or emergency medical services).
Experience
2 years of cath lab or special procedures experience is required.
Cross-trained and able to rotate to perform at least three (3) functional skill sets as delegated in any diagnostic or interventional case type performed.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is required OR must meet eligibility requirements, including supporting documentation, as specified by CCI for the applicable qualification pathway and obtain certification within 18 months (for hires/transfers, including promotions/career progressions, after July 2023).
Basic Life Support is required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support is required.
