The Speech Language Pathologist provides evaluation and treatment of communication, cognition, and swallowing disorders. The Speech Language Pathologist provides goal directed, activity oriented treatment to promote optimum independence in functional communication and daily life tasks. The Speech Language Pathologist provides for continuation of effective performance through education to the patient, family, or support system.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: N/A
License/Certifications: Current Maine State Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA.
Experience: Minimum 12 months' full time equivalent clinical employment experience.
- Must have the ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively in both writing and verbal arenas as well as via e-mail.
- Must have the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Timely, thorough and accurate interpretation of patient clinical information as related to functional performance.
- Use of general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer.
- Patient treatment skill that is progressive, functional and effective.
