Job Description - New Graduate Nurse Residency (3264397)
Cooley Dickinson Hospital (CDH) is committed to supporting new graduate nurses with a pathway to success as you transition from nursing school to practicing registered nurse. Our Nurse Residency Program and specialty-specific orientation programs will provide you with increased clinical support and education during orientation.
Cooley Dickinson Hospital also offers a mentorship program designed to help transition to a professional nursing role during your first year of clinical practice. The program fosters trust, vulnerability, empathy, and respect. It begins at the conclusion of your orientation and lasts throughout your first year here at Cooley. You will be paid an hour of time biweekly to meet with a mentor of your choice, at a time most convenient for you, about topics that are most important to you. Benefits to these mentorship programs include increased confidence, satisfaction, and collaborative relationships.

We anticipate openings for the Nurse Residency Program for Spring 2024 in these units:
- Telemetry
- Med/Surg
- Emergency Department
- Resource (Float) Pool

Minimum Qualifications:
- Nursing school graduate
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
- Demonstrated excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills required.
- Additional unit-specific education and experience requirements are outlined in the Addendum for each unit.
