Job Summary
The nurse manager provides supervision to assigned employees in the EP Lab and coordinates unit/area clinical operations with other department disciplines. The nurse manager is responsible for day-to-day operations of the EP lab, directing the activities of the nursing and support personnel to assure quality patient outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
- You will plan, direct and control the staffing assignments in accordance with objectives and policies to ensure effective coverage of the department.
- You will oversee the work schedule for the appropriate areas as needed.
- You will oversee the monthly staffing schedule.
- You will oversee the schedule for adequate staffing on a daily basis.
- You will interview and make recommendations of personnel for decisions regarding promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- You will plan and direct staff activities, overseeing personnel performance evaluations including the establishment of goals for each employee. You will manage the precepting and orientation process for new hires.
- You will oversee and perform counseling/progressive discipline for employees when necessary.
- You will validate Kronos.
- You will assure that unit supplies, medications, materials, and equipment are used safely, economically, updated as needed, and charged in a timely manner.
- You will participate in unit activities/operations and meetings with physicians and other departments.
- You will ensure compliance with nursing standards of care.
- You will observe the condition of facilities and take corrective action to solve existing or potential problems.
- You will participate in Process Improvement activities.
- You will coordinate with other departments in dealing with worker compensation claims and risk management.
- You will make weekly rounds to check equipment cleanliness and appropriate storage.
- You will monitor narcotic and medication control ensuring pyxis counts are completed weekly.
- You will assist with the orientation of new employees.
Job Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse with current state licensure or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact required upon hire. If working under compact license, must have current state licensure within 60 days.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
- 1+ year of supervisory/leadership experience.
Ideal Candidate:
- BSN
- Min 2+ years leadership experience.
- Must have EP experience (2+ years).

- Compensation: Base Salary max 130K
