Job Summary: This position provides psychiatric care and mental health treatment to patients seen in a Huntsman Mental Health Institute Clinic. This position may be required to diagnose, create treatment plans, prescribe psychiatric medications, establish medication management treatment plans, provide psychotherapy, and potentially administer medications for patients in an HMHI setting, either in clinic or remotely, within their scope of practice and according to state law.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Performing mental health evaluations.
- Diagnosing and creating treatment plans.
- Triage and make referrals when appropriate.
- Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
- Prescribing medication.
- Providing psychotherapy and safety planning.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
- Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system, to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Must hold a valid registered license in the state where they intend to practice as an advanced practice psychiatric mental health nurse and have successfully completed ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
Preferred:
- 2 years of ambulatory mental health experience is preferred.
