Job Summary:
Responsible for delivering general dental care to patients of CHC in accordance with Florida Statute 466 and Administrative Rule 64B5. Providing team leadership in the course of practice.
Primary Responsibilities and Specific Duties:
- Deliver all phases of general dental care in accord with Florida Statutes 466 and Administrative Rules 64B-5. (Scope/Privileging will specify procedures dentist can perform)
- Deliver care at primary site assignment and fill in as needed at other CHC dental sites.
- Must work 80 hours every two weeks and at least one late evening per week; all scheduling of hours to be approved by the Chief Dental Officer before implementation.
- Provide leadership to the dental team.
- Supervise, coach, counsel, and complete performance appraisals of team members.
- Provide source of dental education to the community.
- Be familiar with CHC's program philosophies, goals, and objectives. Be cognizant of and comply with all CHC's policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Represent CHC Values and Mission in the community.
- Provide necessary information and signatures for participation in reimbursement arrangements such as Medicare, Medicaid, and other plans
- Attend and participate in mandatory CHC meetings (center specific quarterly meetings, corporate meetings, and other meetings designated by CDO
- Participate in Peer Review and Quality Assurance activities as requested.
- Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively with other members of the team. Be supportive of coworkers.
- Maintain proper and professional appearance at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
- Adheres to current, applicable evidence-based clinical guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate of an American Dental Association accredited dental school or program
Experience:
- Experience or interest in community/migrant health preferred but not required.
Certification/Licensure:
- Current, active license from State of Florida Board of Dentistry; no license revocation or suspension in any state.
- Must have passed National Dental Boards parts II and I.
- Must have and maintain current Basic Life Saving Certification.
- DEA license required
Special Skills:
- Must be able to maintain professional, caring, helpful manner when dealing with people in stressful situations.
