What You’ll Do:
Safety First!
- Be the safety champion, ensuring everyone follows protocols and stays safe.
- Monitor and report safety compliance, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
- Achieve 100% completion of Safety & Compliance monthly training.
Quality Matters!
- Perform checks to ensure accurate lab testing.
- Create and maintain Work Instructions and SOPs for quality and food safety programs.
- Translate the Quality Manager’s goals into actionable plans.
- Conduct experiments, tests, and analyses using various techniques.
- Manage and submit samples to outside labs and handle test results.
Engage and Inspire!
- Lead and develop laboratory technicians, encouraging continuous learning and development.
- Resolve conflicts, support team members, and maintain a positive work environment.
- Set clear quality expectations and hold the team accountable for high performance.
- Plan and maintain proper coverage for PTO and call-ins.
- Conduct annual reviews with leads and team members.
What We’re Looking For:
- A 2-year technical degree or a four-year degree in a science-based field.
- At least two years in a leadership role, managing professional and leadership roles.
- Experience in maintaining laboratory equipment, completing PMs, and running calibrations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in PC software programs, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in environments with noise, dust, hot and cold weather.
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, and gangways frequently.
- Ability to work safely at heights over 20’, including ladders.
- Must be able to communicate using and hearing a 2-way radio.
