The Debra Simon Center of Integrative Behavioral Health and Wellness at HackensackUMC is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to function under the supervision of the Director of Psychology. The role involves adherence to the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and the Code of Conduct of the American Psychological Association, guidelines from the New Jersey Board of Psychological Examiners, and standards set forth by the Joint Commission.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize whole-person health and wellness.
- Independently diagnose and treat behavioral health disorders and aspects of psychological adjustment.
- Participate in all phases of the outpatient process.
- Facilitate focused, evidence-based treatments (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT) and train junior clinical staff in these approaches.
- Supervise and mentor psychology trainees and medical students.
- Develop psychology externship, internship, and post-doctoral programs.
- Engage in programming to reduce patient hospitalizations.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program in Clinical Psychology (PhD or PsyD).
- Completion of an APA-approved internship in Adult Clinical and/or Pediatric Psychology.
- Proficient in evidence-based treatments (i.e., CBT, ACT, DBT).
- Minimum 5 years related clinical experience serving patients across the mental health and work-related spectrum.
- Experience providing clinical training and supervision, with a commitment to training the next generation of psychologists.
- Sensitivity to multiculturalism and diversity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills including Google Suite platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postdoctoral training and/or experience in Clinical Psychology.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Psychologist License.
