Main Purpose Of Job:
As the clinical dietitian/nutritionist for our Department, you will play a vital role in matters involving nutritional therapy. Your responsibilities include providing clinical nutrition consultations to youth, offering expert nutritional assistance to nursing and medical staff, and coordinating two four-week cycle menus annually. These menus will not only comply with the Child Nutrition Program, Current Dietary Guidelines, and Dietary Reference Intakes but will also contribute to the implementation of the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program at our residential sites.
Position Duties:
- Provide clinical nutrition services for all residential sites, offering nutritional education for youth as needed.
- Develop and coordinate two 4-week menu cycles annually, ensuring compliance with the Child Nutrition Program, Current DGA, and applicable Dietary Reference Intakes. Manage taste testing of new menu items.
- Offer nutrition expertise to all residential facilities in support of their Wellness Policy Tasks.
- Create monthly cultural theme meals to expose youth to different cultural foods.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice under the licensing requirements for Nutritionists and Dietitians.
- Experience: Four years of experience providing professional nutrition or dietetic services, with two years in a public health or community setting.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession of a ServSafe certification within the past three years.
- Experience with the implementation of federal Child Nutrition Program regulations.
- Proficiency in using Nutrikids software to analyze menus.
Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:
- Candidates must possess a current license as a Dietitian or Nutritionist from the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice prior to permanent appointment.
- A valid motor vehicle operator's license in the State of Maryland may be required for duties involving the operation of a motor vehicle.
