The department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Northwell Health is seeking a Thoracic Surgeon to join our faculty at South Shore University Hospital, located in Bay Shore, New York. The ideal candidate is thoracic-track fellowship trained, ABS and ABTS Board Eligible or Certified, and is skilled in minimally invasive VATS and robotic surgery for both malignant and benign thoracic diseases. The candidate will join a well-established, busy, and experienced team of thoracic surgeons at Northwell, with an annual case volume of well over 4,100. The candidate will have access to ample opportunities for translational research in collaboration with Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, Monter Cancer Center, and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. The candidate is expected to take an active role in program development across several network hospitals around the South Shore community. South Shore University Hospital is the eastern most Long Island tertiary hospital for Northwell Health. Located 30 miles east of NYC on the south shore of Long Island. This 305-bed hospital is rapidly growing and has begun expansion of the surgical and critical care areas to accommodate its rapid patient growth. The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Intensive Care Unit is a 10-bed ICU unit with an additional 4 Stepdown beds.
