Position Summary
The University of New Mexico, Center for Development and Disability (CDD) in the Department of Pediatrics is seeking faculty-level Clinical Psychologists in the Clinician Educator track to work within the Center's Autism Spectrum and other Developmental Disorders Division.
The position requires experience providing diagnostic, developmental, psychological and/or neuropsychological evaluation for one or more of the following populations: infants/toddlers, preschoolers, school-age children, teens and/or adults. The Clinical Psychologists will have specific experience providing diagnostic evaluation services for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with one or more of the above-mentioned age groups.
The ideal Psychology faculty candidate for this position will also have experience providing evidence-based interventions with one or more of the age groups/populations described and will have interest in serving diverse and underserved populations specific to New Mexico and the southwest. Some CDD services are offered in home and community settings and local and overnight travel may be required.
Psychologists with specific expertise in ASD and/or other neurodevelopmental disorders are preferred; however, we will consider candidates with strong generalist skills in assessment, evaluation and intervention and a strong interest in developing expertise in the area of neurodevelopmental disorders.
All positions require educational responsibilities including clinical supervision of psychology interns and postdoctoral fellows, as well as teaching within CDD's clinical and community training programs. Rank is dependent on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD, PsyD, or equivalent in clinical, counseling, or school psychology from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Eligibility for medical licensure as a Clinical Psychologist in New Mexico.
- One year experience in providing evaluation services for one or more of the age-groups/populations: infants/toddlers, preschoolers, school-age children, teens and/or adults.
- One year experience providing intervention services for one or more of the age groups/populations: infants/toddlers, preschoolers, school-age children, teens and/or adult.
- One year experience providing clinical supervision for trainees and/or classroom and/or community teaching experience.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish and English language skills.
- Completion of an APA accredited clinical internship.
- Completion of a LEND training program at a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.
- Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team.
- Experience providing diagnostic evaluation for those suspected of having ASD and/or other neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Experience using the ADOS-2 in diagnostic evaluations.
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
