St. Gabriel’s Hospice and Palliative Care is looking for a Hospice Administrator for our Austin office.
The ideal candidate will have a servant leadership management style, passion for hospice care, and have an excellence-driven work style. Must be extremely detail oriented.
Job Summary:
Primary function is to assume overall responsibility and authority for administrative and leadership functions, supervision of the organizational plan and responsibility for ongoing communication with the Governing Body and Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) as well as Agency staff.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: Must be a hospice employee licensed physician, RN, licensed social worker, licensed therapist, or licensed nursing home administrator with at least one year of management or supervisory experience in a health-related setting, or have at least a high school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED). Must comply with required training for Administration of Agencies as described in Texas Administrative Code (TAC) 558.259 & 558.260.
- Experience: Must have at least two years of management or supervisory experience in a health-related setting, such as a hospital, nursing facility, hospice, outpatient rehabilitation center, psychiatric facility; intermediate care facility for persons with mental retardation or related conditions, or a licensed health care delivery setting for providing services for individuals with functional disabilities.
- Skills: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all segments of the staff, the lay and professional public, the Governing Body, IDG, and Medical Director. Shall be able to read, write and comprehend English.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the daily operations of the agency. The Administrator will be available during the Agency’s operating hours.
- Organizes and directs the Agency’s ongoing functions. Administratively supervises the provision of quality care to Agency patients/clients.
- Ensures the Agency, including any Alternate Delivery Site(s), is in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulatory agencies related to the health and safety of patients/clients.
- Ensures education and availability of applicable regulations to all Agency staff, including contractual providers.
- Takes action on reports and recommendations of any authorized planning, regulatory or inspection agencies.
