About the Unit:
The Adult Admissions Unit is an inpatient unit serving individuals from the ages of 18 and up. The objective of the admissions unit is to provide a safe and structured environment for crisis stabilization. A multidisciplinary treatment team targets a broad range of psychiatric illnesses and behavioral challenges with various therapeutic programs and educational groups. Nursing teammates work closely as part of the multidisciplinary team to help patients meet their goals and transition back into the community. Nursing care is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Clinical Nurse Manager:
An exciting leadership opportunity awaits. The Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) ensures the delivery of safe, quality nursing care on the Adult Admissions Unit (AAU). As an essential member of a multidisciplinary care team, the CNM uses and role models the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate the highest standard of care and provides education to teammates, patients, and families. A typical day on the AAU consists of interacting with teammates and patients. Patients begin their day being encouraged and mentored by teammates. Teammates provide structured skill building activities and interaction in various settings throughout the day. Patients attend off-unit programming at the Hope and Wellness Center. Patients have scheduled access to time in the courtyard with various activities, gymnasium with basketball court, library, and various other off-unit activities.
Through teammate engagement and collaboration, the CNM facilitates team growth and development by consistently providing educational and mentoring opportunities. The Mission and Values of Cherry Hospital are exemplified in the care provided by each teammate. The CNM ensures therapeutic and meaningful relationships exist between teammates and patients to facilitate patient success.
Teammates are coached and appraised in an environment that promotes Just Culture and accountability. Personnel records are updated and retained for each teammate. The CNM recruits teammates by direct involvement in the interview and selection process and contributes to the retention of teammates by developing supportive and mentoring relationships.
