Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is accepting applications for a Pharmacy Technician at the USC University Park Campus Health Center Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for:
- Prescription order entry
- Filling prescriptions
- Answering phones and retrieving messages
- Stocking shelves
- Maintaining dispensing system
- Conducting sales and operating POS devices
- Providing customer service
- Obtaining prior authorizations
- Billing and filing paperwork
- Delivery of medications to campus locations
Additional responsibilities include participation in staff meetings and availability to work on weekdays and some weekends. May rotate to other USC Community Pharmacy locations.
Work Schedule: M-F, Occasional Saturday. Shift based on pharmacy needs: 9:00am-5:30pm; 10:00am-6:30pm; 11:00am-7:30pm.
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid CA Pharmacy Technician License Required
- Knowledge of Medicare billing, QuickBooks billing, and Third Party Insurance billing
- Experience with RX30 Pharmacy Software and QuickBooks is helpful
The hourly rate range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
Minimum Education: Specialized/technical training
Minimum Experience: 1 year
Minimum Field of Expertise: Completion of accredited pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience as per Board of Pharmacy technician regulations, sec. 1793.4. Knowledge of pharmacy law, rules, regulations, pharmacology & medical terminology, manufacturing procedures. Valid Pharmacy Technician Certificate of Registration, State of California.
