Job Description:
The Regional Clinical Manager acts as the primary clinical resource person to the communities in their assigned territory. This position provides information, instruction, and direction for the community leadership team and regional managers to support the best possible level of care to residents consistent with nursing standards, compliance with Sonida Senior Living guidelines, and all regulatory agencies. This position also provides accurate, timely advice and consultation on risk management issues, quality indicators, and regulatory matters.
Responsibilities:
- Works under the direction of the Corporate QA Committee and reports directly to the Quality & Clinical Director (QCD). Reports any regulatory concerns, risk issues, non-compliance with Sonida Senior Living policies, and care concerns to the QCD timely.
- The position is based in (fill in state) and works with assigned communities which may be located in other states.
- Maintain a nursing license in their home state in good standing. Any changes to the nursing license, including limitations or sanctions, must be reported timely to the QCD.
- Review quality indicator data for assigned communities and use nursing judgment to identify trends, risk issues, and regulatory issues. Develop action plans with the community based on their findings.
- Conduct final round interviews on Wellness Director candidates and provide feedback to the Executive Director and regional operations manager.
- Conduct QA audits and work with CLTs to develop plans of correction and monitor progress.
- Support Wellness Directors in their roles by mentoring new Wellness Directors, providing feedback, education, and direction as needed. Assist with communities that are without a Wellness Director as needed.
- Review incident reports for their communities to identify regulatory issues, non-compliance with Sonida Senior Living policies, or risk issues. Work with the legal team, community leadership, and regional operations to develop plans of correction as needed.
- Produce work product following the QA Committee guidelines. Reports are to be submitted for review to the QCD prior to submission to the QA Committee.
- Assist communities with all state regulatory compliance, including identifying lapses in compliance and self-reporting as required by state regulation.
- Visit assigned communities to review, monitor, and audit the quality of nurse care provided to residents.
- Implement standards of nursing practice, reviewing and revising as necessary to reflect changes in nursing practice and resident population.
- Plan and schedule travel with the QCD and Regional Operations teams.
- Support and maintain a culture of safety and quality.
- Collaborate with Regional Operations Managers to provide quality services to their shared communities.
Experience:
- RN is preferred.
- An LPN/LVN may be considered if they are actively pursuing an RN degree and have demonstrated ability to perform QA assignments. The geographic territory may also determine the level of licensed nurse required.
- Experience as a Wellness Director in assisted living is required. Experience in other leadership roles in senior living may be considered.
- This position requires travel at least 65% of the time. Some travel may be with limited notice.
