Thrive Behavioral Health is currently hiring social workers and counselors with LCSW-Cs, LCPCs, LMSWs, LGPCs, or similar who have an active, unrestricted license through the state of Maryland to work with Thrive's Prince George's County School-Based Program.
We are looking for licensed therapists to provide social, emotional and behavioral support in the Prince George's County School System. This position is geared towards students between Pre-K and 8th grades that have social, emotional and behavioral problems at school. Our goal is to provide social, emotional, and behavioral support in the school to reduce said behaviors. The position is approximately 37.5-38.5 hours a week, with some flexibility of scheduling and other benefits. Additional work is available outside of the PGCPS contract. The therapists will provide professional development, consultation and support to school staff and administrators and services will take place in the PG County School Clusters.

Responsibilities
- Maintaining an active caseload list of students
- Attend interest meetings with the school-based team
- Assist in program development, professional development, and related tasks
- Interact in a professional manner, build productive & positive relationships and collaborate effectively with others
- Confidently represent the agency and its mission
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted and independent practice in Maryland as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC), Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist (LGMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Certified (LCSW-C), Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
- Prefer CPR/FFA Certification.
- Experience with a younger population of 4 years old and up
- Familiarity with multiple intervention types
- Able to form strong connections with integral school staff and families
- Able to provide consultation and plan formulation for specific behaviors interfering with classroom success
- Able to work with Thrive staff to develop and implement school-specific trainings on managing behavioral health concerns of students
- Knowledge of industry standards, theory, principles, and research processes
- Provides therapeutic treatment to assigned caseload consistent with treatment plans
- Able to work effectively with the client to implement solutions and model appropriate behaviors
- Issues related to self-awareness, diversity, ethics and continuing education
- Knowledge of PC software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is preferred
- Understanding of the code of ethics for respective profession
- Written and oral communication skills; able to concentrate on work amid distractions
- Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision
- Reading and writing level that can clearly express or understand complex concepts
- Ability to represent the program well in interactions
- Working knowledge of DSM 5 diagnoses

- Implements appropriate interventions that promote, maintain, or restore physical and mental health

- Knowledgeable of normative developmental milestones
Additional Notes
- This position is paid hourly and is NOT based on a fee-for-service structure.
- This position follows the PGCPS schedule with approximately 185 workdays.
