- LENSAR currently has one Practice Education Specialist position available and is posted in Richmond, Chicago, Newark, and Philadelphia.*
Position Summary
The Practice Education Specialist is responsible for the timely integration, conversion, brand management and procedural growth of Laser Cataract Procedures into surgical practices employing the LENSAR LLS and ALLY Treatment System. This role is field-based and requires travel.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Train entire staff of newly installed LENSAR LLS and/or ALLY System account on positioning Laser Cataract Surgery within the practice, including the following:
How to introduce procedure to patients
Positioning the surgeon
- LENSAR/ALLY benefits and patient outcomes
- Patient scripting and language for conversions
- Phone scripting
- Seminar opportunities
- Support the integration of digital tools, patient messaging, practice website, and marketing kit.
- Develop tactical marketing plan with the physician’s office regarding market introduction, advertising, and public relations, then develops an established timeline to implement the plan.
- Explore OD education opportunities. Communicates to the Director of Practice & Patient Education, as necessary.
- Travel to various practice settings to perform on-site evaluations and assistance as necessary.
- Monitor and facilities procedural growth (same store sales).
- Responsible for LENSAR LLS & ALLY growth and utilization within region or specific accounts.
- Work directly with sales representatives, clinical application specialists and physicians to leverage business opportunity and increase revenues by adding value to practice setting.
- Participate in team meetings, conference calls and strategies as needed, to develop new tools for Patient Education & Patient Experience.
- Report weekly progress and monthly overall updates to manager.
- Attend corporate meetings and conferences, as directed.
- Any other responsibilities deemed appropriate by manager.
Knowledge / Experience / Skills / Education

Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Business, Marketing or closely related field of study or equivalent experience.
- Patient counseling experience, as well as marketing in a surgical practice.
- Experience with practice development activities of premium procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and customer relations skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.
- The ability to travel throughout the U.S. up to 50%.
- Must be capable of booking travel and managing expenses.
Preferred:
- Strong background in cataract and refractive patient workup.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Practice Education Specialist job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with management and internal/external customers. The employee must be able to stand on average between four to five hours at a time during surgery training. There may be opportunities for brief sit-down breaks. The employee must lift, move, and control physical inventory, office supplies, or travel equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of the Practice Education Specialist, the employee will work out of their home office. They will be required to travel approximately 50% of the time in order to meet with doctors and administrators in both an office and operating room environment. Travel and essential job duties may involve extended hours and occasional weekends. The employee works near and around moving mechanical parts and is exposed to laser radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
