The CT Technologist performs a variety of standard and specialty Computed Tomography (CT) procedures to produce imaging studies using radiology technology to assist physicians with formulating a medical diagnosis while complying with safety and regulatory requirements. Specifically, conducts radiology exams and documents clinically appropriate results for interpretive physicians and records.
This position is full-time working Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm at Grandview facility in Birmingham, AL.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the company’s values in daily activities.
- Performs complex tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues.
- Positions patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Screens patients for CT safety prior to procedure performance.
- Starts IV’s, administers contrast media as directed and per protocol.
- Evaluates CT scans for technical quality, collates processed images and sequence of exposure and labels appropriately.
- Applies the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice.
- Maintains knowledge of, observes, and enforces the safety measures in the Environment of Care.
- Assists in other modalities as requested and as allowed by licensure/certification.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and on-time approval to work as scheduled.
- Ability to deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external customers by communicating with integrity and compassion.
- Ability to resolve service recovery issues and understand when to escalate to the next level.
- Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of 24-month AMA-approved School of Radiology Technology.
- 12 months previous experience in diagnostic radiology or other imaging modality.
- ARRT certification in Computed Tomography.
- Applicable State Licensure, where required.
- IV credentialed if applicable.
- BLS certification preferred.
