The Manager, Nursing is responsible for the coordination of clinical services and the leadership of clinical nursing staff throughout the Physician Clinics. The Manager will collaborate with leadership and other clinical and administrative stakeholders to guide activities of the practice, to ensure appropriate patient outcomes, environment and efficient, effective team processes for clinical management of outpatients.
Job Description:
- Provides clinical guidance and supervision of clinical nursing staff
- Supervises activities of team, ensuring compliance with organizational policies/procedures, as well as regulatory and accreditation agency standards
- Assists team with assessing patients' needs, problem solving, and moving patients through the continuum of care
- Manages team to work collaboratively with primary and specialty providers, patients, caregivers and other clinical staff
- Serves as a resource to ensure effective communication between interdisciplinary teams and facilitates efforts to ensure optimal care
- Provides essential management functions to ensure effective day-to-day operations
- Facilitates the development and implementation of team processes
- Identifies opportunities to improve clinical care, customer service and internal business processes
- Budgets within parameters
- Monitors and adjusts staffing and workload as appropriate
- Conducts interviews, hires and employment actions
- Mentors staff through performance feedback processes
- Acts as a resource and support for staff in developing conflict-management, delegation and communication skills
- Counsels staff and completes disciplinary actions as appropriate and as delegated by Director
- Moves the team to quality outcomes through shared planning, voluntary expression and acceptance of members as valued individuals
Required Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited program with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
Licensure: Current MS RN license, MS 90-day temporary permit, or Compact State RN license.
Experience: Five (5) years of clinical nursing experience, with three years of progressive leadership experience and at least two years in an outpatient setting.
