Job Summary and Qualifications
The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals.
What you will do in this role:
- Conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patient’s speech language abilities during spontaneous conversation.
- Structure and implement individualized patient program to improve communication abilities.
- Evaluate patient regularly during treatment and adjust program as needed.
- Document progress in patient’s chart.
- Consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician regarding pre-screen assessments.
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Certificate of clinical competence from American Speech - Language - Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Current Missouri Speech Pathology licensure.
- Master's degree in Speech - Language pathology from accredited school required.
