We are seeking an experienced RN or LPN to join our senior living community in Hudson, NH. This position encompasses responsibilities as both the Staff Development Coordinator and the Infection Control Nurse. The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse within the long-term care industry, with the ability to work independently and creatively to design and implement innovative training processes and systems. This role is crucial for the ongoing education and development of our nursing staff, ensuring all team members are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills in infection control, patient care, and nursing practices.
Job Summary
As the Director of Staff Development and Infection Control Nurse, you will oversee our quality assurance program, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while promoting continuous improvement in resident care. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong clinical background and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety and excellence. You will collaborate with clinical staff to identify improvement opportunities and implement effective strategies, while also focusing on staff development through tailored training programs. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and implementing infection control protocols, monitoring compliance, and educating staff and residents on infection prevention measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance programs and policies in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of nursing practices and resident care plans to ensure quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance care quality.
- Design and deliver comprehensive staff training programs focused on quality assurance practices, regulatory compliance, and best practices in resident care.
- Develop and implement infection control protocols, ensuring hygiene practices are followed and compliance is monitored.
- Teach patients and healthcare staff about infection prevention and respond to outbreaks effectively.
- Assess the training needs of nursing staff and implement tailored development plans to enhance their skills and competencies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging feedback and open communication among staff and facilitating team-building activities.
- Analyze data related to resident outcomes and satisfaction, and prepare reports for management.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and resolve issues.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure quality standards are integrated into resident care.
Qualifications:
- Current RN or LPN license.
- Previous experience in nursing, ideally in a supervisory or quality assurance role in a long-term care setting.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations governing nursing homes.
- Proven experience in staff development, training, and mentoring within a healthcare environment.
- Excellent analytical skills and experience with data analysis and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with staff, residents, and families.
- Proven leadership abilities and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain infection preventionist certification.
