Position Overview:
The RN and LPN oversee the delivery of care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to assigned patients in skilled nursing and extended care facilities. They collaborate with RNs, Supervisors, Physicians, and other clinical disciplines in making decisions regarding patient care. They direct and guide patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments and develop plans to focus on the resident’s physical, psychological, and social needs.
- Take vital signs to detect deviations and assess the condition of patients.
- Administer prescribed medications and intravenous infusions, ensuring correct dosages and infusion rates.
- Aid physicians during treatments and examinations of patients, preparing rooms, equipment, and supplies.
- Document nursing interventions, patient reactions, effectiveness of treatments, and complications.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and modify the care plan as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
- Associate's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Previous experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
- IV experience preferred.
- Computer skills in Point Click Care.
- Licensed Nurse with a current Illinois License required.
- CPR certification required.
Schedule:
- Full and Part Time: Evenings and Overnights.
- 8 hour shift.
