Description
In 8 years, we have grown from a 2-doctor "nights & weekends" practice to a 24/7 practice in a new facility (completed Sept 2023). We are busy but working as a team (both among ourselves and with the nursing staff) makes coming to work fun. The "board of directors" is very small (2 people), so decisions are made and implemented quickly.
We are looking for at least one full-time ER Veterinarian to provide excellent care for our patients, our clients, and be a valuable addition to our team/family.
We take great pride in:
- Patient management - this is where it started for all of us, right? We use the latest tools (in-house lab, digital radiographs, ultrasound, endoscopy, 3D CT, as well as easy-to-use cloud-based software and electronic treatment sheets) to care for our patients, and are open to other methods or equipment. We offer the best care available, even when that means referral to an internist or another specialist, and we refer quite a bit to a conveniently located imaging center for more in-depth ultrasound studies.
- Client care - We have an excellent client base! Despite being affluent, most of our clients are relatively low-maintenance, but we put a premium on communication.
- Use of technology - As mentioned above, we try to take advantage of the latest technology to streamline communication between team members as well as with our referring hospitals. Electronic medical records that integrate with our whiteboard (and imaging) make life so much easier and more efficient.
- Our employees - We see employees as an investment, not an expense. We are generous with salaries at all levels, with CE stipends for all full-time employees.
In addition:
- Embroidered scrubs are provided.
- Health insurance paid 100% for employees (on the silver plan that the Board members use). Employees can opt for the gold plan and pay the difference, and likewise spouses and family members can be added.
- All veterinarians are trained by FastVET in global FAST techniques (paid by FEPC, does not affect CE stipend).
- Dental & vision insurance are available.
- Two weeks of vacation/year (3 weeks after the third year), but our schedules and staff are flexible enough that vacation can frequently be taken without using PTO.
- Licenses (TX, DEA) are paid.
- Memberships/subscriptions (AVMA, PLIT, VIN, VECCS) are paid.
- Strong mentors are available to guide with cases or surgical/endoscopy/ultrasound procedures.
Requirements
- Veterinarian, licensed in Texas
- Strong interest in emergency medicine & surgery
- Positive attitude that keeps the entire team elevated
- Commitment to patient care & client service
