Shift: Full-Time (36hrs/week), 7p-7a

You receive expert care from a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, healthcare staff and specialists capable of treating the most severe and critical injuries 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
General Description:
Acts as an expert RN in clinical care of injured patients, coordinates trauma team care delivery and system throughput.
Essential Functions/Duties:
- Provides clinical command and control during trauma activations.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the trauma emergency department.
- Provides oversight of care for injured patients based on evidence-based trauma care guidelines/protocols.
- Provides clinical expertise and input on procedures including, but not limited to, Trauma Intensive Care Unit, Post-Trauma Clinical Unit, Rapid Response, Mass-Transfusion Protocol, and intravenous access.
- Acts as the hospital liaison with all pre-hospital emergency medical services and referring facilities throughout Oklahoma and surrounding areas.
- Coordinates, monitors, and documents patient and clinical care activities.
- Participates in ongoing performance improvement/patient safety processes related to the injured patient population.
- Promotes and supports a collaborative team approach in providing care for all injured patients.
- Communicates with clinical and management teams to execute and direct patient care services and system throughput.
- Participates in trauma program activities in support of injury prevention, community education, staff, and system development.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years experience as an RN in Emergency/Trauma/Intensive Care. Or substitute a Master’s degree in Nursing for one (1) year of the required experience.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
- ACLS (American Heart Association) required upon hire.
REQUIRED WITHIN 12 MONTHS:
- Trauma Nursing Core Course - Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) (TNCC) OR Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses - Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) (ATCN)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA) (PALS) OR Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course - Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) (ENPC)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of nursing theory, standards of nursing care, practices, techniques, and procedures. Knowledge of hospital organization. Skill in administering effective nursing care. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with medical staff.
