Summary
Performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams in accordance with the policies and procedures provided by the Lee Health cardiovascular department. A Level 2 (primary vascular) sonographer must specialize in non-invasive vascular testing. Sonographers must be proficient in carotid duplex, upper and lower extremity venous studies, upper and lower extremity non-imaging arterial studies, upper and lower arterial duplex, and pseudoaneurysm evaluations. The position requires varied shifts, including weekend rotations and on-call rotation as determined by specific department needs, including holidays, weekends, and evenings. Portable exams are done based on patient need. Demonstrate flexibility in learning all equipment. Have an understanding of sterile procedures, isolation precaution techniques, infectious hazardous materials, sharp instruments, and defibrillator equipment.

Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Additional Requirements
Graduate from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program or diagnostic medical ultrasound program. Extensive experience may substitute training.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience in Vascular Ultrasound.
State of Florida Licensure Requirements
Not Required
Certifications/Registration Requirements
BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support) - Required
Additional Requirements
Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Vascular Technology (RVT) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International in Vascular Ultrasound (RVS).
