We are looking for patient-focused Radiology Technologists to join our team.
The responsibility of the Radiology Technologist includes an empathetic and instructional approach to patient care, the preparation, operation of imaging, collection data using computers, necessary imaging devices and care of instrumentation, patient physical safety and radiation safety.
Responsibilities
- Confidently administer all types of diagnostic radiology exams with emphasis on patient care, efficiently and safely.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with all customers, explaining procedures to patient/family accurately and to customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and utilize appropriate equipment and supplies to perform exams that comply with the state's scope of practice.
- Complete ordered exams and assemble data for the Radiologist/Physician, generating exam charges in the Radiology computer system.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document pertinent data and patient information completely.
- Review patient history and obtain appropriate order.
- Utilize resources to provide the best standard of care for patients in Imaging Services.
- Act as patient’s advocate prior, during and following exams.
- Assist the Radiologist as needed for completion of procedures.
- Utilize knowledge of positioning and techniques to provide the patient with diagnostic imaging while adhering to ALARA.
- Perform care according to the population served on the unit as referenced in the Administrative, Scope of Services Policy.
- Adhere to standard of care outlined in policy and procedures as directed by the Medical Director of Imaging Services.
- Maintain certifications, licensure and job-related competencies and requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of all customers.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- ARRT (RT) registered.
- LRT, state of Kansas licensure within 6 months of employment.
- BLS certification.
