Scientific Data Bioinformatician

Organizes and facilitates data collection and conducts statistical analysis of datasets while working across multiple, simultaneous projects. Applies scientific methodology and statistical analyses to implement appropriate methodologies for complex data management and statistical analyses. Facilitates algorithm development, software development, and result interpretation. Assists with grant preparations and staff training. Manipulates datasets, cleans data, and facilitates quality control procedures to ensure data accuracy.
Performs analysis of data generated by members of the lab and publicly-available data from a variety of sources. Identifies available datasets to both generate hypotheses and validate experimental evidence. Integrates datasets, including but not limited to RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, metabolomics, scRNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, and others. Uses available pipelines to facilitate data and statistical analyses. Prepares quality figures and documents for grant applications, presentations, and publications.
Minimum Education Level Required: Master's Degree

Hiring Range: $62,553.00 - $80,425.00

Essential Functions: Must know how to perform routine analysis of RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, and ATAC-Seq and be able to make figures from these data for grant applications, manuscripts, and presentations.
Physical Effort: Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
