Community Servings' mission is to actively engage the community to provide medically tailored, nutritious, scratch-made meals to chronically and critically ill individuals and their families. We are a dynamic and fast-growing agency at the forefront of the "Food is Medicine" field, providing over 1M medically tailored meals annually to clients and their families experiencing illness and food insecurity in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Summary: The Manager of Education for the Food and Health Policy Center (FHPC) reports to the Senior Director of Policy and Research and is responsible for the development and management of education and training programs within the FHPC, including developing and refining education curricula, recruiting participants for courses, workshops, and trainings, delivery and teaching of curricula, working with the Senior Research Project Manager to evaluate the programs, and supervising interns and staff as required. This is a hybrid position, requiring three days weekly onsite at our facility in Jamaica Plain, and two days remote. However, the onsite or on-location requirements will vary based on our educational programming needs. Travel to partnering sites may also be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Actively works with the Senior Director of Policy and Research and the Director of Nutrition and Client Services to develop, refine, and implement educational curricula that meet the organization’s mission and goals.
- Teaches the curricula or provides oversight to external partners who are teaching the curricula.
- Develops and implements outreach strategies to recruit program participants and audiences for our educational content.
- Acts as a liaison to external project partners.
- Prepares and leads presentations related to Community Servings’ Education Program.
- Collaborates with the Senior Research Project Manager to develop outcomes measurement tools that meet funder and organizational objectives.
- Supervises interns and staff as required.
- Assists the grants team in the development of grant applications, when relevant opportunities arise.
Qualifications

- Registered Dietitian and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Professional Chefs’ degree, or at least five years’ experience as a chef or culinary professional.
- Familiarity with the latest nutritional standards, practices, and procedures of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, including Medical Nutrition Therapy.
- Experience in developing and teaching educational programs related to food and nutrition.
- Demonstrated skill in interpersonal relations to effectively communicate with multi-cultural populations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and managing meetings in Zoom.
- A valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and a clean driving history with access to a reliable vehicle.
- The ability to successfully pass a Criminal Offender Records Inquiry (CORI) background check.
- Bi-lingual speaking ability (e.g. Spanish) is a plus.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or related field, Master of Science degree in Nutrition or related field, Professional Chef’s Degree or certificate.
